The region last Wednesday decided to give $11,000 to the McLaughlin 'Gallery- in Oshawa, but nothing to Whitby Arts, after the issue was given a second hearing within two i weeks. Mayor Gartshore said that 30 to 40 per cent of Whitby Ar t,-' members are from Oshawa, and Councillor Thompson said the gallery serves the region as weIl as Whitby. If the Robert McLaughlin Gallery is a regional gallery, then so is the Whitby Arts Station Gallery, said the mayor.
