Gale Ltd. for 41 years, Mr. Carnwith was born July 12, 1894 at Merrickville, Ont., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Charles Carnwith. He was a resident of Oshawa froin 1920 to 1949, when hie noved 10 Brooklin and resided at 90 Colson Street. He retired fromn business in I1967. Mr. Carnwith served in the First WSrld First World War as a gunner with the l3th Artilîery Brigade, CEF, and mas a life member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 1 12 in Brooklin. H-e was a mnember of Brooklin United Chiurch anid a nieenber of Merrickville Masonic Lodge. Mr. Carnwith is survived by his wife, the former Wilma Gale, whomn he married at Oshawa ion Sept. 20, 1926. le is also survived by two daughiters, Mrs. Donald Wilson (Carolyn), of Brooklin, and Mrs. Cliff MeColrn (Joan) of Ottawa; two sons, James G. Carnwith, of Brooklin, and Johin S. Carn- with is also survived by eighit grandch ildre n and three grea t grandchildren. Two brothers, William R. Carnwith and Jack Carnwith, died previously. The funeral service was lield at Mclntosh-AndCrSOfl Funeral Home in Oshawa, followed by interment in Union Cemetery.
