On Septemiber 26, the Station Gallery vas officialiy opened by Miayor Des Newman, and a 'Railway Supper" held aI the Centen- niai building tb comminemorate the opening of Whitby Arts' permanent home. This was followed by a retrospective exhibition of works by Florence MeGili- vray, an artist who was born and broughit up in Whitby. Another exhibil vas "Exposure Three" by three Port Perry artists: Catharine Christie, Chris Haugen and Sheila Dantzer. 1971 January was "Railway Month" at the station, wth displays by the Oshawa and District Mode] Railroaders. The exhibit was opened by Saut Mundry who was an agent at f le station in 1 940.1 Peter VaniGils had a one- man show in Febrtiary and there were sculpture classes by Pe ter Neye.
