Mr. Reader, who lived at 1127 King St., was bo,,n at Bowmanville, and worked for the Canadian National Rail- way for 49 years. Before his retirement four years ago, he' wvas a section foreman. He,was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Port Whitby; Eastern Star Lodge No. 72 100F; and Virny Ridge Lodge. No. 2697 LO L. Mr. Reader's wife, the formner Lydia Roberta Maiel predeceased him. They were miarried in Oshawa in 1933. Mr. Reader is survived by one son, John, of Oshawa; and' txvo dauglers. Mrs. Bruce Reid (Esther) of Oshawa, and Mrs. Ralph Crowvder (Gladys) of Sutton. He is also survived by four sisters, Mrs., Robert Morris, (Rose), Bowmanville; Mrs. Fred Hogarth (Lill), Courtice; Mrs. Douglas Knapp (Edie), Oshawa, and Mrs. Ross McKnight (Grace), of Bow- nuanville; and three brothers, William of - Queensville, Chiarlie of Oshawa and Ernest of Bowmanville. Mr. Reader is also survived by il grand children. The funeral was held Aug. 17 aI W. C. Town Funeral Chiapel, with Rev. Raymnond Carder of St. John's Church presiding.
