Mrs. Waterhouse was 101 years old, having been bora Elizabeth Ballantyne at Whitby, Oct. 24, 1875. 1-er parents were the late John Ballanjtynje id Eiizabeth Sinclair. Mrs; Waterhouse was pre- deceased by her husband, John Edward Waterhouse Aug. 25, 1958, Mr. Water- house was a grocer on Brock Street in the early part of this century. Mrs. Waterhouse was a memnber of St. Andrew's active èliufch worker; anda member of -the - Whitby Women's Institute. The funeral was held Aug. 31 at W. C. Town Funeral Chapel, witls Rev. Frank Conky presiding. Iiiterment followed ia Mount Lawn Cemetery. Free Press Photo George Ashe MPP opens office Margaret Trenblay, a registercd nurse at- the Whiitby PsychiatriceIHospital for 25 years, died at the Oshawa Ceneral H ospital, Aug. 29 at the age of 74. A residenit of the Extendi- care Nursig H ome in Oshawa, Mrs. Treniblay was borm April 28, 1903 in Finchi Towniship, aind was the daughtcr of Archibald I lunt. She gradua ted fronm the Brockville Psychiatric Hospital School of Nursing and had been retircd fromn the Whitby hospital for 17 years at the tirne of lier death. her husband Feix Tremiblay, whonm she married at Oshawa on July 6, 1969. Mrs. Trcniblay was a meniber of St. John the Evangelist Romnan Catholic Chutrch in Whitby. She is survived by one step-son, James of Port Pcrry: and two step-daughiters, Mrs. Jean At tard of Oshawa and Mrs. W. Silverthorn (Sandra) of Whitby. The funeral was held Sept. 1 at W. C. Town FuneralChapel, and a Requium Mass was held by St. John's at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Uxbridge. Liberal Association Joe Bugelli, who contested the June provincial election in Durham West for the Liberal Party, has annouaced that a Liberal Party association is being forrned in Whitby. George Ashe, Durham West's new MPP, elected in June, has opened his riding office and action centre xvhich . will handie any inquiries or problemrs of his consti tuents. The office, at 37 Station .Plaza in Ajax, was officially opened Thursday afternoon with a wine and cheese party attended by a number of Whitby residents. The office is in. the plaza south of. Highway 401, behind an Esso service station. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, except for Wednesday when the office remains open tili 9 p.m. Two girls, Judy Moskaluk of Whitby and Ann Fitz-Gerald of Pickering xiii staff the office on a shift basis. Mr. Ashe said Thursday the arrangements are truly demnocratic, for every part of is riding is represented. The office is in Ajax and the staff miemrbers are frorn Whitby and Pickering. The telephone nuiber of Mr. Ashe's office is 683-6707, which involve s no long- distance charges, anywhere in the riding. The office includes a basement room with 35 chairs whcre meetings uaii be held. An Approved Park wiIl be established in the Town of Whitby with the aid of a $25,000 provincial grant, Natural Resources Minister Frank S. Miller announced last week. The park wiIl be built on some 50 acres of undeveloped Mr. Ashe said the Legisia- ture xiii reconvene in mnid- October, but lie will be busy this week touring Ontario to hear subrnissions on Bill 22 which provides for amend- mients to the Labor Relations Act.
