Local man struck by lightning Brian Humphrey Luke, of 938 Harding Street, was killed by lightning while fishing at Lovesick Lake, September 1. Mr. Luke, wvas born Oct. 1, 1941, in England and was 35 at the timie of his death. He was the son of Ross and Fleurette Luke, of Oshawa. Mr. Luke was a membcr of the Plumbers and Fitters Union Local 463, and wvas active in the Neighbourhiood' Amnateur Sports Co1mmittee as Whiitby. The collection was made ini connection with the Jerry Lewis MD telethon. Mark and Sherri also collected $48 at abackyard carnival July 9 and raised $44 for Muscular Dystrophy at a sale last year.
