A group of Whitby and Oshiawa businessmen headed by Bob Attersley, Gus Brown, Bul Hayball and Nip Hooker, has been awarded a new franchise by the Ontario Hockey Association to operate Senior A hockey in Whitby. The team will be called the Whitby Iroquois. General Manager is Ed Crouch, who has been involv- ed in ail aspects of hockey for 30 years. Coach is Peter Warmington, who coached the Whitby Juvenile teamn to the finals in the Ontario Minor Hockey Association last year. He will be-assisted by Steve Çardwell, formerly of the Oshawa Generals and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League; and Peter Vipond, formerly of the Oakland Seals in the NHL, and who has played for Whitby's Senior A teamn for three years. The teamn manager is Fred Wolff, who. has been involved in Whitby minor hockey for more than 10 years., The tramner is Bob Lindsay, traîner of the CBC Builders lacrosse team and several local hockey te amns. Equipment manager, is Wayne Colley, who was goalie. for the CBC Builders in the recent Minto Cup Junior A lacrosse series played at Whitby.
