He also had an active political career in Whitby Township before he went to, work for the county and was Reeve of Whitby Township in the 1940's. One other recipient of the Queen's Jubilee Medal is Charlie Skelton, Zone Com- mander for the Royal Cana- dian Legion and a Past Presi- dent of Brani 112. The Legion recornmended that he receive the medai. Mr. Skelton has been an active memnber of the Whitby branch of the Legion for many years,and was president in 1 969-70. le lias served in every office in the legion executive except treasurer and canteen. A surprise to the celebrants was the arrivai of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Timrns from Prince George, B.C. Their sons and families arranged the party: Donald and Doris, Howard and Gladys, Harold and Sandra, ail of Oshawa, Frank and Ferne of Prince George, B.C. Kenneth Alberta, of Edmonton, who was unable to Greetings were reçeived fromn Mayor Jim Gartshore, mnembers of the Council and citizens of Whitby, M.P. Mr. and Mrs. Timms who were originally from Myrtle were rnarried in Oshawva on Nov. 17, 1927. They have resided in Myrtle since their marriage.
