Requests for invitational tournamnents or events wil flot be accepted. The Council has provided $1 ,500 for championship grants in the 1978 budget. French lessons Citizens who are 'interes- ted in proceeding thisyear to Longueuilfor-theTown's lOth Annual Twinning Exchange are invited.,to participate in Frenc h lessons at the Whitby Municipal' Building. The French classes are being held with the co-operation of Mrsý. Cecile Wagar .of WhItby. One tesson already-took place on Februaryl1 5e . Three meetings are'scheduled ,for February, 22, March 8 and March 22*, sta'rting at,7:30 p.m. "Mrs. Wagar is teaching basic, every- day expressions and words to an interested group of Whitby people who have expressed a desire, to learn more about French as part of the Twin- ning activity.
