LIENT MEETINGS A series of ecumenical ser- vices during Lent is being held every Wednesday at noon at All Saint's Anglican Brooklin Pro0posai Meets OPpositon Brooklin Planning Consul- tant Donovan -Pinker's propo- sai for a higli school south of Brooklin met with opposition from ' residents- at. a recent ,meeting. Mr. Pinker wanted the school at the intersection of Winchester Road and' Higli- way 12, but residents said it would be inaccessible t.o the majority of' thle -population of -Brooklin, who- would be living 'north of' Winchester' Road. Mr. Pinker argued i n favor of the locationi, stating it is near to existing sports facili- ties such as an arena and track. He added that- low water pressure will curtail developinent north of the -seventh concession and there-ý fore housing will have to move south.. He considered that when the alignment. of Hfighway. 407 is set by the province in a few years, it will be far enough south of Brooklin to permit developtpent in an area now reserved as a buffer zone. ,Mr. Pinker said the Dur-, harn School Board agrees that a projected population of 10,000 for Brooklin would generate 700 high school-age students, and a school, would be required. It would cost .$400 a day to bus those students to Whitby high schools, he said.
