Work is also proceeding on finishing a new roof on the jail. An expansion to the jail bas been recommended, but is be- mng held up by government financial restraints. OBITUARY NORMAN WILLIAMS Normnan Edward Wil- liams, 412 Peels Street, died at the Oshawa General Hos- pital April 4, at the age of 67, following a short ilîness. Mr. Williams was born Sept. 13, 1910 at Carleton Place, Ontanio, a son of the late Adam and Annie Wil- liams. A resident of Whitby about 30 years, Mr. Williams work- ed for 28 years as a tèlegraph operator at Oshawa for the Canadian Nation al Railway before retining two years ago. He was a member of St. Mark's United Church. Mr. Williams is survived by his wif e, the former Jes- sie L.etby, whoni he marrled Nov. 3, 1930 at Nakina, On- tario; one son, Douglas of Brooklin; two granddaught- ers, Mrs. Michael A=i- strong (Wendy> of Oshawa and Debora Williams of Brooklin; and one great granddaugbter, Kathleen Armstrong cf Oshawa.
