MEETING Terry Jones M.P.P. frorn Missisauga North will be speaking to the Young P.C.'s of Durham Region on July 20, a t the riding* office of George Ashe in Ajax. Terry Jones is the Parlia- mentary Assistant to Mar- garet Birch and is respon- sible for the Ontario Yough Secretariat. He is the author of the Yough and Alcohol Report. He will be speaking about the proposed raising of the drinking age, the Ontario Youth Employment Program and other issues concerning young people in Ontario. Mr. Ashe's riding office is located at the north end of the Ajax Plaza at Harwood Ave. and Station St. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served. MODEL SCHOOL REUNION Students who attended the old Whitby Model School, iiuw noencr Kara ci Cho, are invited to attend a reunion to be held at the sehool Sept. 6 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Anyone who attended the school during the time that it was known as the Model School or Dundas Street School is asked - to contact Alvin Sturgess at 668-3518. PUPPET SHOWS -A Blinky and Doinkel Puppet Show will be held at the Whitby Public Library July 26 at 10: 30 a.m. to teach children aged three to, eight about safety in the home. This show is presented by the Ministry of Consumer and Corporate Affairs. July 28 at 2:30 p.m. there will be a travelling puppet show sponsored by the Çentral Ontario Regional Library System. The plays include "The King's Dinner" and ",The EUg," which would appeal to chîldren aged five to 10. BRASS BAND CONCERT July 20 at 7:30 p.m. the Whitby Brass Band wlll be presenting a concert on the Iawn at the Whitby Public, Library. Everyone is invited to bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of band music. NATIVE INDIAN MdASKS. Members of the McMichael Canadian Col- lection will visit the Whitby Public Library July 21 at 10:30 a.m. to present ûin informai program un native Indian masks. The program is designed for children of ahl ages who want to make Indian masks. CHILDREN'S FILMS films will be shown at the Whitby Public Library in July Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. July 12 there wil be a Disriey car- toon* parade, July 19, there will be the film " The Cater- priller," *and July 26 there will be a film on the Poly- nesian Islands.
