Inter-edistrict soccer resuits WITBY H<±u PRESS, WEDNESDAY, JTJLY 12, 1978, PAGE 5 The following is a round-up of the latest scores in the Durham Inter-District Soccer League: PEE WEE June 29 at St. John's Park, Whitby, the Oshawa Rangers edged Longmuir Builders 2-1 with Ricky Wood getting the only Whitby goal. This was the first league loss for Whitby and puts the team two points behind Oshawa. With only, five minutes left, Oshawa broke a 1-1 tie to win the game. July 4 at Peterborough, Peterborough defeated Longmuir Builders 2-1 with Frank Princiotta getting the only Whitby .goal. Peterborough scored to break a tie with 13 minutes left in the game. MOSQUITO June 29 at Peel Park, The Crown Industrials of Whitby walloped the Oshawa Tridents 11-1 with three goals each by Robbie Delong and Victor Refalo, two by Nick Moschella and one each by Daryl Musselman, Billy Chilton and Jeff Doleweerd. Oshawa scored the first goal but that's as far as they got. Whitby tied it and led at haîf time by a scoreof 2-1. In the second haîf, Crown Industrials bombed Oshawa, scoring nine goals. President John Jefferies welcomed several visitors from Oshawa. He also congratulated those respon- sible for decorating the float which brought a first prize to this Society for the fourth lime in as many years. He also thanked Marg Davis for organizing the horticulture booth at the Annual Spring Fair and isked-for volunteers to man booth at the County Town Cornivà l in August. A note of appreciation was given to Gordon Wick for his plantings at the east side of the Brooklin Memorial Arena and to Mary Housego, who togeiher with her com- mittee is responsible for Civie Beautification. Mary also made an earnest plea for more volunleers in the weeding and hoeing depart- ment. Following this, Margaret Beath gave a report on the O.H.A. Convention held recently in Kingston and commented on the excel- lence of the speakers and mentioned that Grace Coe of the Brooklin Society had won a prize in the photographic competition. Mrs. Edna Love then gave, a demonstration on pine cone craft and contrived flowers and made several recom- mendations in regard to the appropriate cones to be used for various projects. John Jefferies then thanked the Judge for the show, Dorothy Sandford of Oshawa and her knowledge- able and timely suggestions will prove to be very helpful in future shows. Mail destroyed; boys arrested Two boys aged 13 and 14 have been charged by Durham Regional Police with thef t from the mail and three counts of break and enter, one at St. John's Separate School and two at DenisO'Connor High School. Police said mail was stolen from drop boxes at Gifford and HaIlett Streets and a number of letters were destroyed. The youths, who were arrested July 7, will appea r in juvenile court.
