HUMANE SOCIETY TAG DAYS The Durham Region Branch of the Ontario Humane Society will be holding its annual tag days on Sept. 29 and 30 in Whitby. Canvassers will be going door-to-door and will be posted in local* shopping centres on these dates. OCTOBERFEST -The Brooklin and District Kinsmen Club will be holding -an Octoberfest at the BrolnMemorial Arena Sept. 29 from 6 p. m. to 1 a. m. and Sept. 30 from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Live non-stop music, both um-pah-pah and modemn, will be provided, with dance. contests by -two. bands, the Royal Alpines and Nobody is Perfect. Bavarian food is also available. 1All proceeds from the Octoberfest will go to Cystic Fibrosis research. FALL DANCE The Volunteer Association of the Durham Centre for the Developmentally Handi- capped will hold a faîl dance Sept. 30» at 8:30 p.m. at Whitney Hall in the Iroquois Park complex. .Lunch and door prizes will be provided and ail proceeds will go toward the mentally retarded of the Durham Centre.
