The score was 4-1 after the first period of this exhibition game, and 7-1 at the end of the second neriod. The Welland Steelers, entering Senior A hockey for the first time in seven years, Friday, were handed a 6-5 defeat by the Whitby Iroquois. The Iroquois opened their regular season play Friday in Welland . against the Steelers. The Iroquois lost 9-5 to the Barrie flyers at Barrie Sept. 25, but received the good news that defenseman Larry Mavety, an all-star with Brantford, will be joining their lineup. On Thursday the Iroquois 'signed thier final player of the opening .lineup, goalie Bryan Rose, a former netminder with the Oshawa Generals, who will share his duties with Whitby Iroquois regular goaltender
