" He pointed out that there i§ more'emphasis on music, sports and activities that 44wilI round out a girl's or studcnt's personality and character as well as emphasis on academie work. "A private school usually. has a religious aspect "gjing a more spiritual out- look to lite. The private school gives the opportunity for choice which is a funda- mental basis of democracy." Dr. Davis said, as he pointed out that Ont.ario Ladies' educational standards and is visited by the. Ontario Department of Education Inspectors on a regular basis." "We are proud of our graduates and we wish them well," Dr. Davis said, as he pointed out that the Faculty and Staff have initiated a new system in the Sehool. It is the "Prefeet Systemn" and the 'girls who receive the Prefect's Crest are chosen .kvihe facultv and Staff. "They are girls who must meet exacting standards,' he said. The girls chosen to ho Prefects must examplify good .character -and behaviour. This includes good manners and good speach. They must have a good manner of dress" and must have shown both good manners and courtesy to students, Faculty and Staff" are some of the "exacting standards" listed by Dr. Davis.
