Mr. Jackson also provides the best account available of the early history of the Church of which there were three branches, the Churcb of Scotland, the United Presbyterian or Seccession Church, and the, Free Church. According to Mr. McClure, the book written by Mr. Jackson clears as much as is possible the apparent confu- sion about the founding of the Presbyterian Church in Canada from these three branches.
