Sewer Charges At the annual meeting of the Ratepayers Association, Mayor Jim Gartshore and Councilor Gerry Emm explained the latest development concerning sewer charges for the Corridor Area. The' resolution to go before Regional Çounicil this Weclnesdav for approval will be: No irontage charge Jan 1, 79 Regional rate $750.00 hook-up. Amendment to the resolution-to allow Corridor residents 6 1months to pay or pre-pay the old rate of $ 150.00, regardless of whether or flot sewers are'in your area. Cut off date to pre-pay, June 1979. The resolution has passed eommittee 'and will, go before Regional Council today. For those of you who have the service oôn your street, but. have flot hooked up, you will have until June to pay the $150.00 hook-up charge. Residents who wiIl not have sewers by that date, mnay pre-pay the $1500. After May 31, 1979, the connection charge will, be $750.00 or whatever is -decid- ed upon by the Region. Sewers are tentatvely.scheduled to be completed within WVeapons Corridor area in 1979. Our Regional Coundillors have been. working with ù .à Ito find an acýceptable compromise totheproblem.
