Larry Dean Noyes 17 of 44 Falby Court, Ajax, got into anl argument with his father. As a result of the argument the youth got into the family car and drove off into the Whitby area. There was an accident at Thickson Road and Dunidas Street, East, which wa'q being investi- gated by Poice Officers Albrecht and- Catouel. Officer Catouel made an attempt to stop the car which refused to stop. The driver "deliberately drove the car at Officer Catouel", Inspector Westbrook said. The car proceeded east- ward at sDeed up to '100 km O wl banding projeet completed in marsh area The Saw Whet Owl bird banding project, conducted at Lynde Shores Conserva- tion Ares by the Toronto Bird Observatory has been cornpleted for 1978, says the Central Lake Ontario Coli;v servation Authority. Fifty-seven Saw WMet OwIs were trapped and banded during the* course of the project. Ini total 375 birds comprising sortie 45 different species were banded and processed by TBO workers. Mist nets were used to take, the birds. On private property down- streain, froin the conserva- tion area, the course of Lynde Creek was altered' away froin the base of a 30-foot cliff which. was threatening the house on the site. Large ainounts of fili were dutnped over the cliff edge and graded out to give a more mnanageable slope. The site will be restored in 1979. At the Lynde Shores Con- servation Area on Victoria Street, there is ice skating on the creek rnarsh. At the Herber Down Conservation Area on the fifth concession, there is cross-country skiing on a 6.5 km rnarked trail. Both, conservation areas have parking and wash- rmoins available. On Jan. 21 there will be a winter wildlife walk at the Lynde Shores' area starting at 9:30 a.mii.
