Councillor Bob Attersley stated that the "sidestreets and intersections are the worst I've ever seen in Whitby. Just get off the Regional Roads and you are in trouble. If we get two more inches of sfl0w on top of the snow and ice that we already have on the streets then we are in trouble. Real trouble." Regional Councillor Gerry Emnm pointed out the Region had eauipment out on <Whitby, eleets e., Whitby Arts Incorporated enters 1979 with a 25 per cent increase in membership from 1978, and a deficit of $5'000. Although there is a deficit, it is flot as severe as it was two years ago, w.hen there were reports that Whitby Arts was in financial trouble. Whitby Arts hopes to budget for a number of fund-raising projeets to wipe out the Sunday and the town snow and sanding crews have been out working and doing their best to make the streets safe for everybody.
