WHITBY, FREE PRESSIWEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 7.1979, PAGE -15 750 new- homes, buit in- '78; same, number for '79 A total of 750 new homes were constructed in Whltby, ini 1978, and a similar amount of homes is expected to be buiît in 1979, says Planning rDirector Kevin Tunney. If al these homes are sold, the population of the town wiIl increase by 2,500, he said in a recent interview. At the end of 1978, the town council had approved 31 plans, of subdivision of which 30 were residential and onë industrial, making a 'total of 5;404 units, said'Mr. Tunney. So far aboýut 1,000« of these units have been buiît. Aîthough 5,404 units have been approved by council, development.is being staged, and completion of all these units will flot occurr until the end of 1982, he said. One subdivision is due for, completion in 1079, tour in 1980, 10Oin 1981, il in 1982, and one in 1983.
