Her Hawks win COSSA midget On March 8 at Lakefield, Henry Hawks won the COSSA midget girls' volley- bail champîonship - during the first COSSA tournament to be offered at the midgct level. H-enry won cieven of twelve games in the ail-day tournament, iosing only the first gamne of the day to Cobourg West. In the finals the midgcts Anderson rugger team goes to Wales Thirty-eight s;tudents and three teachers from Ander- son Coliegiate are participa- ting this week in a series of rugger games in England and Wales. The school staff report there is a possibility that the Anderson teams wiil play against an American school in London Engiand before returning from their current trip. The staff members on the trip are rugger coaches lion Pither and Wilson Brock and David Phiilips, head of the shcooi's physical education department. Plans are under way for an English team to visit Whitby in 1980. The staff and students of thc school raised a consider- able amount of the money rcquired for the trip and wcre assisted by a grant from the provincial govcrn- ment. Oniy at Lakefieid, were the Henry girls to break the Pickering jinx. As a trîbute to the spirit of sportsmanship in the LOSSA region, Pickering and Port Perry teams cheered the Henry girls on to the COSSA The first MIDGET COSSA trophy brought this year to Henry brings with it mnem- ories of a good season and memories for a spirited group of players: capta in, Sandi Stevenso, Jili Bather- son, Kellan Beck, Kathy Brown, Sue Gent, Dcb Gib- son, Janice Maguire, Lynn Neumanl, Robyn Schultz, Leslie Sims, Mary Windfeid and manager Dani Lebarre.
