Blair Park Plaza is a disgrace says Drumm During the hour-long Operations Committee meet- ing following the walking tour of the core area of the Town, Councillor Joe Drumm spoke 'about the condition of the Blair Park Plaza. He said, "it is a disgrace. The people are complaining about candy wrappers al over the place." He pointed out that there are "no waste paper contai- ners inv-the a rea" and won- dered if some could be located in the area. Mayor Jim Gartshore said that the problem could be looked into, by council. It was also suggested by, th e membersof, the Opera- tions ,<C6'rniitec ithat th'e.- Council 'should have James Allen, the By-Law Enforce- 'ment Officer and Property Standards Officer, go and check the back of the Plaza. Councillor Drumm said he wants the Inspector to' in- spect "every store there, the parking lot there (Blair Park Plaza). Have him inspect the whole place."' Councillor Drumm wanted to know if there was any way the jPolice couId-c heck up onl this p roblem? But then he said the Police Force isn't equipped with motorcycles orvehicles that will permit them to go off the travelled street area. Mayor Gartshore pointed out that "the Police are out on their own motorbikes. We have-four, officers now on motorbike patrolin Whitby.
