Brooklin Bylines BOY SCOUTS The 2nd Brooklin Scouts did it again. During the weekend of May 26 the 2nd Brooklin Scout Troop won the annual Whitby Composite Camp Competition for the second year in a row. Members of the Brooklin troop who won were patrol leader Michael Siciliano, Paul Van Schyndel, Danny Forbes, Kevin O'Neill, John Andrew, and assistant patrol leader Larry Marrse. Anyone interested in seeing what's happening is invited to drop by the school gymnasium between 10 to il:30 a.m. or 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. RECEPTION The teaching associates of Mrs. Anne Milner are planning a reception'in honour of her retirement. It will be held in the library of Meadowerest School on Monday, June 18 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Former pupils, parents and friends are invited to come and extend their good wishes to Mrs. Milner at this time. LOGO CONTEST The Brooklin Business Association is currently sponsoring a LOGO contest to develop a logo to indentify the Business community of Brooklin. First prize will by $35 and the next three winners will receive $5 each. Deadline for the contest is September 1, 1979. Entry forms have gone out to schools in the area and are also available from local merchants. More information to follow. PAPER DRIVE The Brooklin Boy Scouts Paper drive will be held on Saturday, June 9 at 9 a.m. Newsprint only can be accepted, no magazines or glossies. Newspaper must be tied two ways and left on the curbside before 9 a.m. Ashburn residents may leave newspapers at the Ashburn Community Centre prior to the Paper Drive. MISS BROOKLIN SPRING FAIR PAGEANT Thanks to all who supported the pageant this year and helped to make it a success. DECORATION DAY Decoration Day for the Brooklin Oddfellows will be held on Sunday, June 10 at 2:30 in the Groveside Cemetary. BROOKLIN HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY Brooklin Horticultural Society will hold their annual Iris Show on Monday, June 11, at 8 p.m. at Burns Church in Ashburn. Entries for the show will be accepted from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Join us for an evening of fun and friendship. MEADOWCREST PARENTS GROUP - On Wednesday, June 13, the students of Meadowerest School are all invited to a "Healthy Food Tasting Party" hosted by the Meadowerest Parents Group.
