It was estimated that more than 2,000 people attended the reception at Iroquois Park Arena Friday night, and almost as -many toured the school the same evening. The halls and welcome rooms for the various deca- des' were jammed with for- mer students who came from ail over Canada and the* United States and even out- side the continent to attend the reunion. Displays of press clip- pings, photogiaphs and other' memorabilia were set Up in the varjous welcome rooms, which were open Friday evenfing and Saturday mor- ning. The official part of the reunion was a dinner and dance at the Holiday Inn in Oshawa, where a nuýmber of speeches were made in honor of the occasion. Although the 1940s were before the Henry Street Schooi was built, students from as far back as the 1920s returned for the 25th anniversary of Henry Street High School, celebrated Friday and Saturday. Free Press Phot Milton Mowbray, a former chairman of the Durham Board of Education, and Doug Hird, joined Catherine Burwash in celebrating the Henry Street High Schooi Reunion last weekend. Miss Burwash joined the teaching staff of the Whitby High School in 1928 and retired in 1963.
