The library will be having book displays and film strips for children and there will be two special programs. At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 22, Gordon Penrose, the creator of "Dr. Zed the Zany Scientist" wil be at the library to entertain and thrill children with his crazy experiernents. Mary Uisko - The Happy Cooker will ha at the ibrary on Saturday, November 24 at,2:30 p.rn. THE GALLIARD ENSEMBLE The Whitby library present the Gallard En- semble' group of four talented musicians whose mediumn is chamber music. They will appear in con- cert on Novemnber 15- at 8 p.m. Tickets are $3 each and, are available from the in- formation desk at the library. TOUCH AND LEARN In celebration of the, "In- ternational Year of the Child", the library, in con- junction with the Lake On- tario Conservation ,Authority have put together- a program of nature exhibits for children. The show will h held ln the Prevlew Room of the llbrary November 12 to 30 from 10: 30 a.rn. to 7:30 p.m., Monday to Friday and frorn 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The library recommends that children under five years of age ha accom- panied by an adult. NEWCOMERS CLUB The November General Meeting of. the Oshawa- Whitby Newcomers' Club wiII ha held on November l3th at7:O00p.m. This wllbe a dinner meeting at the Paul Giovis Gallery, McLaughlln Square, 44 Richmond Street East.
