Two of the four quallfylng days were played, on Saturday the 24 and Sun- diY the 25th. The two -teams wblch qualifled on Saturday were Avonlea 'and, Humber Highland. The two teams whlcb quallfled on Sunday wer London and Dundas Granite' Altogether the six out Of elgbt quallfying teams tbat will participate, on December 1inw the finals -are Sarniae London, Avonlea, Humber Highland, London and Dundas Granite. The .bonspiel -bad ,with them Earl Hashager, from the Humber.Hlgbland teama,, ywho la a veteran player. In' the past, Hashag er bas won six Dunlop Bonspiels., It was unfortunate that *Doug Palmer, from the St. Catherines team, was eliminated- on Saturday, because'Palmer' won last years finals. Four Urne champion, Paul Savage, participated ithe bonspiel this past Saturday. Another. memorable player was, Art Lobel, from the Royals team, who curled in Montreal andhe was the former runner-up in the 1977 World Cbampionsbip. Lobel was also eliminaited on Saturday. Ken Buchan represented Ontarioi 1969, i the Brier beld in Osbawa., Buchan bad been retired but he made. a comeback witb bis London teamon Sunday. Anotber interestlng- culer was Bob Charlebois, from MM the Dundas Granite team, who has been the Ontario Champion twice.
