GODFREY C. RAVENHILL Pastor Faith Baptist Church The intricate and conflicting interests of the present world order have created a serious indifference toward matters of faith. Men are not so sure about religion as once they were. Religious belief is still an important factor in the life of the world, but there is little certainty regarding the supreme problemns of the soul. The chief weakness 0f present day Christianity is the con- fusion of its adherents. The tendency is to muddle through without any real conviction. An understanding of God seems to be no longer vital to the consciousness. The paramount loyalties have become faded dreams. Faith does not satify. Doubts play awful havoc in these lives of ours, and cynicism bids man lie down and give up. To such an age of confusion the Apostle Paul speaks, and there is a star.tling decisiveness about his utterance. Paul is sure of himself, he is not buffeted from one opinion to another by the changing winds of time. Here indeed is a man who has come to a conclusion about religion, and an honest conclusion at that. This conclusion is indisputable and unanswerable and final. Paul says, "I know who 1 have believed and arn per- suaded that He is able to keep that which I have cornmitted unto Him against that day" (Il Timothy 2:12). PuaI says, "I know". Such conviction is the declaration of a spiritual supremeacy that transcends any human influence. When a man stands upon the solid rock 0f assurance, he loses aIl sense of fear. ANd this lack of assurance is the haunting worry of the average life today. Men are broken by circumstances, because of insecurity. They ask the questions, "Is love real?" "Is God dependable?" Is immor- tality possible?" These are the questions that drive men to desperation. Lt is true that we can be sure that God is God, that God is CONT'D ON PG. 27 Corne To Our .Surpris e Part y JANUARY 22 m23. The surprisîng new 1981 SUBARU Inexpensive. And buit to stay that way.
