The senior group will compete on February 13 and 14, the intermediate group on February 7 and the brass ensemble itself on Februrary 13 and 14, the in- termediate group on February 7 and the brass ensemble itself on February 17. BLUEGRASS The Pineridge Bluegrass and Folklore Society will hold meetings on the second and fourth Sunday of each month at Camp Samac, Oshawa. All interested persons are welcome. For more information call 655-4838. AGLOW MEETING The next meeting of the Women's Aglow Fellowship will be held at 7:30 p.m. on February 12 at Camp Samac, Simcoe Street Nor- th, Oshawa. The guest speaker will be Marian Greenwood of Brooklin and her theme will be "Of Like Faith." BOWL FOR MILLIONS Big Brothers of Oshawa & District and the Ontario- Durham 5-Pin Bowling Association have once again joined to sponsor the 1981 Bowl For Millions cam- paign. The Bowlathon which will run at three area lanes from February 7th to 14th, en- courage bowlers to obtain sponsors who contribute an amount of money calculated on the bowler's score. Fun- ds raised go to further the work of Big Brothers and the 5-Pin Association. Participating lanes are Whtiby County Town Bowl, Motor City Bowling Lanes and Oshawa Bowling Lanes. Sponsq- sheets and in- structions are available from Big Brothers, 52 Sim- coe St. S., or from any par- ticipating lane. SKI OUTING The Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority will be holding a cross-country ski outing at' Heber Down Conservation Area on February 15. The outing begins at 1 p.m. Bring your own skis. SKATE-A-THON Ronald MacDonald's friends will join the Kinsmen Club of Whitby for this year's Kinsmen skate-a-thon on February 21. The 10 thannual skate-a- thon will be held at Iroquois Park Arena and all school aged children are invited to get sponsors and come out to skate. Proceeds from this year's skate-a-thon will .go to aid Cystic Fibrosis Research, park development, minor sports and other local needs. Sponsor sheets can be ob- tained from the Royal Bank on Brock Street South in Whitby. SNOWFLAKE BALL The Volunteer Association of the Whitby Psychiatric Hospital are sponsoring this years annual Snowflake Ball, Saturday, February 21. Dress is semi-formal. SERENADE YOUR SWEETHEART The Oshawa Chapter of the Sweet Adelines will serenade your sweetheart for Valentine's Day. All that any interested person had to do is pick any two songs fromt he Adelines' repertoire and tell them where your sweetheart will be on February 14 and sing an appropriate card. The chorus will then do the rest. This is the time that this service is being offered. For more information call 725-0113 before February 10. CHAMBER MEETING The next meeting of the Whitby Chamber of Com- merce will be on Monday, February 16 at 12 noon in the Imperial Room of the Le Chalet Restaurant, 110 Dun- das Street West. The guest speaker will be Charles Clarke, past president of the Bowman- ville Chamber of Commerce and a director of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. The cost for the luncheon meeting will be $7 per per- son and those wishing to at- tend should confirm their place before Friday, February 13 by calling the chamber's office at 668-4506. EXHIBITION Until March 1, the Whitby Arts Gallery is holding an exhibit featuring members of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolors. A selection of works representative of the society will be on view in the gallery. The gallery is located at the corner of Henry and Vic- toria Streets. Hours are from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday and from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Fridays. Saturday and Sun- day the gallery is open from 2 to 5 p.m. For more information call the gallery at 668-4185. RUGBY DANCE The parents of the com- bined Anderson C.V.I. Henry Street High School rugby teams will hold a dan- ce on February 27 at the Heydenshore Pavilion. Tickets are $15 per couple and include a buffet lunch, prizes and bar privileges. The money raised from the event will be used to sponsor a tour of Wales by three teams made up of boys from both Whitby high school. MIRTH, MUSIC AND MARY B "Mirth, Music and Mary B" is a collection of original humorous sketches and well known play experts inter- spersed with music. This one-woman show features Mary Barton who originally put the show togather to raise money for the Canadian Mime Theatre. She wil be appearing at the Whitby Public Library on Thursday, February 12 at 7:30 p.m. For more information on the show call the library at 66-6541. FILM NIGHTS The Whitby Public Library will have three film nights in the month of February. All screening begin at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Tonight, February 11, "Margaret Lawrence, First Layd of Manawaka" will be shown. February 13's film will be the "Plot to Kill Hitler" and "Kennedy's Don't Cry" will be seen February 18. FRENCH STORY TIME The Whitby Public Library will hold a French story hour for children in Grade 2 and up on the second and fourth Saturday of the month beginning at 1 p.m. There are still a few openings for the program and registration can be made at the children's desk. Church will hold a "Hearts and Flowers Bridge and Euchre Night" at the Denis O'Connor High for dais column School on February 16 beginning at 8 p.m. There will be over 50 prizes awarded and lunch will be served.
