BROOKLINUNItED CHURCH On Sunday, April 5 the Brooklin United Church Women will be taking the morning service. Since this is the Year of the Disabled we are delighted to have Jo Anne Chisholm come to us from Toronto. She is disabled herself from an accident 8 years ago. She has overcome many problems and presently is attending the Centre for Christian Studies in Toronto to become a Hospital Chaplain. After the service there will be a congregational pot luck in the C.E. Building. Bring your food to the kitchen before church, then plan to have a leisurely dinner with family and friends. Also on April 7 the Brooklin United Church Women will be having their april Dessert Meeting. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. with a short business meeting followed by dessert at 8 p.m. Worship and program will follow. Marge McCoy will be showing her slides of Oberammergau and tour of Europe. Everyone is invited. Come and bring your friends for an in- teresting evening. WOMEN'S INSTITUTE The next meeting of the Women's Institute will be the an- nual meeting with reports being given - Date April 15th at 2 p.m. at the Brooklin Community Centre. New members and visitors are welcome. District annual will be held at the Presbyterian Church in Port Perry on May 28 at 9 a.m. SIPRING FASIIIONS The Brooklin Legion Ladies Auxiliary will host a fashion show at Meadowerest Public School on April 9 at 8 p.m. Clothes from the Brooklin Village Shoppe will be featured. Admission is $2. DANCE The ist and 2nd Brooklin Boy Scouts are holding a dance on April 4 at the Brooklin Community Centre from 8 p.m. till 1 a.m. There will be bar privileges, a disc jockey, a buffet, a door prize and spot dances. Whitby Ambulance During the week that en- ded at midnight last Thur- sday, the Whitby Ambulance Service responded to 72 calls for service. According to co-owner Bill Cocker, the service respon- ded to 29 routine calls and to 21 standby calls for am- bulance services in Oshawa and Ajax. The service also respon- ded to 22 emergency calls.
