Corridor Capers Bx' NARY McEACHERN STUDENTS RETURN HOME Welcome home to Mr. and Mrs. Abrey and their seven charges from Anderson Collegiate. From ail the tired but excited students, their trip was a tremendous success. Educationally speaking, their french has greatly im- proved. It's amazing how quickly one learns when it's a mat- ter of survival. This week many excursions have been planned for our visitors, Luncheon on Tuesday, compliments of the Durham Board of Education, Wednesday, it's a trip to Queen's Park where the students wilI be greeted by Premier Bill Davis and Durhanm West M.P.P. George Ashe, on to the C.N. Tower, Toronto City Hall, Eatons Centre and dinner at the Organ Grinder. Thursday, visit to Niagara Falls, Skylon Tower, and Table Rock Scenic Tunnel Tour. Friday, the French visitors will travel to Sainte-Marie among the Hurons. Next Tuesday, the students will bid their good-byes and fly home to their families. We hope they enjoy Canada as much as our students en- joyed France. IIOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE The monthly meeting for the Holy Family Catholic Women's League will be held Wednesday, April 22 at 19 Hialeah Cresc. in Whitby. Plans will be formulated to celebrate C.W.L. week, April 26 to May 2. Members are en- couraged to attend the Regional C.W.L. dinner at St. Gregory's Auditorium, Oshawa, on April 28th. Tickets are available by contacting 723-1700 or 576-2098. EAGER-BEA VER AWARD The early bird gets the worm, or so the saying goes. The Corridor Area have selected Murray Holliday, of Northview Avenue,. to receive the Eager-Beaver Award. Murray was spotted last week cutting his front lawn. There always has to be a first-one to spoil it for the rest of US. PAPER DRIVES This Saturday will be the monthly Boy Scout Paper drive for the Otter Creek area and the Corridor Area. Please have papers bundled and placed at the roadside by 9 a.m. WIIITBY COMMUNITY CARE The annual meeting for Community Care will be held at Fairview Lodge on April 29 at 7:45. The guest speaker will be Mr. Correli, from Canada Pensions. Ail seniors are urged to corne and enjoy this special evening. Entertainment will be provided and refreshments will be served. If you require transportation, caîl the Community Care office at 668-6223.
