Country fairs across On- tario attract local and city people too. Brooklin Spring Fair l Spri ng got off the ground last Saturday with a dance in the arena, but the three big days start tomorrow, Thursday, and carry through Friday and Saturday with something to please every age and INVITATION itvéiabi. frmWe *CINEMASHOWCASE 'A Fair offers rnany entertainment features taste. At 3 p.m. Thursday, the viewing gets under way with the Carlsberg Championship team and wagon. This is something worth seeing, whether you are a real lover of horse flesh or not. We'll guarantee you'll like what you see. At 4 p.m. there is a hor- se and pony show for children and at the same hour, the beer tent opens, but this is not for children, so for heaven's sa-ke tell them. Also at 4 p.m. the midway opens and thus runs until mid- night. One of the highlights of Thursday's program is the Miss Brooklin Spring Fair Pageant. If you are interested in en- tering this contest, get in touch with Mrs. Young at 655-4936. Thur- sday evening, the fair will be officially opened by Durham Regional Chairman Gary Herrema. On Friday, June 5, there is action for everyone and it runs al day. At 9 a.m. the Morgan horse show gets under way, and it con- tinues aIl through the day. Starting at 10 a.m. the exhibits are to be placed, and in case youtre interested at 12 noon the Carlsberg team goes through its performance and the beer tent opens. Many people are interested in the crafts that are on exhibit and at 4 p.m. the arena is opened for the general public to get in and view some of the fine work done by the people of this district. in the evening at 8 p.m. the public can get in to view the exhibits of hay, grain, horticulture AN EVENING 0F DANCE Presented By THE GAIL DORFMAN 0F BALLET SCHOOL A Demonstration By the Siudents of the Sohool and a Performance By The Dance Workshop. Country people, especially farmers, will be interested in the trac- tor pull that gets under way at 6p.m. This is the second such affair to be held at Brooklin Fair, and it includes farm tractors and modified tractors. At 8 p.m. there is ten- nis tournament spon- sored by Bagg Realty and if you would like to enter, just phone Alex Pilepic at 668-2058. A big crowd is expec- ted on Saturday, June 6, 50 pack up the family and get there early. The arena opens at 9 a.m. and visitors to the fair can view the exhibits. At the same hour, the tennis tour- nament continues throughout the day. The hay and grain com- petitions will be judged, starting at 10 a.m. The Appaloosan horse show runs through the day, beginming at 10 a.m. At 10: 30 there is the judging of light and heavy horses and at the ame time the parade begins, this year using the theme, "Salute to TV Favourites". During the day, the Carlsberg champion horses and wagon will be on display. The beer tent will be open, the arena open to view exhibits and of course the mid- way which continues right through until mid- night. This fair a ttracts many Durham visitors and is a spring fair well worth taking the time to go and see.
