Come to the Fair Sheep will be a big part of this year's Brooklin Spring Fair with Suffolk, Leicester, Dorset and other breeds competing for over $3,600 in prize money. The blaze, which blocked traffic along Highway 2 for three hours, was apparently started when an employee entered a rad spray booth with a propane oxygen torch, setting fire to some wet paint. It took town fire fighters an hour to get the blaze under control, Crews were on the scene from 4: 11, when they responded to the alarm, until il p.m. checking for any tiare ups. The police cordon of the one block area along Highway 2 disrupted rush hour traffic until around 7 p.m. when it was returned tonormal. Capt. Ed Crouch was in charge of the operation with crews fromn the downtown and Thicksons Road stations responding to the caîl. At approximately il1:55 p.m. the 19-year- old female store clerk was in the baek room of the store when someone ap- proached her fromn behind and touched her with a sharp object, according to a spokesman for the Durhamn Regional Police Force. The suspect was described by police as a white maie, 5' 8" to 5' 10", between the a ges of18 anrd 20. He was wearing a nylon over his head, a three-quarter length grey winter coat, blue jeans and white running shoes. The suspect was carrying a kîtchen knife 8 to 10 inches in length. While the robbery was in progress two residents of the area tried to get into the store and found it locked. Neither was aware of the robbery taking place inside. The two were still in the area of the store when the robber fled. According to the police spokesman the two saw the man get into a green General Motors vehicle, believed to be an Oldsmobile, and head south along Garrard to Highway 2. The clerk was flot injured during the robbery.
