Each spring, kids look forward to those fast ap- proaching summer months of freedom from books and chalk dust, but it doesn't take long before they become bored and have nothing to do. The Whitby Parks and Recreation Department camps are the perfect solution to the long tedious days of sum- mer and offer something for all children ages 3 to 14 years. Kindercamp ages 3 to 5½ teaches the basics in camping skills including campfire songs, crafts, hikes and splash time. Four - two week sessions are available from 9:00 am to noon at Iroquois Park for '35 a session. Adventure Camp ages 6 to 12 years provides the oppor- tunity to take part in hikes, nature lore, crafts, games and special events. Swimming lessons are available three times per week and free swim twice per week. This camp takes place in and around the Iroquois Complex Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in four - two week sessions for *60 per session. In the Sports Camp, children ages 8 to 14 years , can learn and improve their skills in baseball, soccer, tennis I or II or lacrosse. This camp operates in the AM or PM in two -four week sessions for 3½ hours for -45.00. The afternoon camps include a free swim. The Adventure and Sports Camps offer extendicare from 7:30 - 9:00 am and 4:00pm - 6:00 pm at *1.00 per AM or PM. To assist you in getting your child to camp, we will be utilizing the Whitby Transit System witha counsellor to supervise your child on and off the bus. The Town will issue two week passes for $5.00. All camps begin on June 29th and operate on all holidays. T-Shirts are available for Sports and Adventure Camp for *5.50. Sun Hats are available for Kindercamp for *5.00.
