This week we had the pleasure of visiting Fazio's Restaurant at the corner of Simcoe and Athol Streets in Oshawa. It was our second invitation and Tino Fazio was the same delightful host that we met several months ago. Fazio's specializes in the finest of Italian cuisine and you can en- joy dinner here for as Musie at Park- wood On JuIy 26, Parkwood will present Steve Salmers and the Salmer Family Singers between 2and 3p.m., Between 3 and 4 p.'M., The Esprit de- Kor will perform. Both performances will take place on the terrace and in the event of rain they wiIl be can- celled. Seating is limited and those plan- ning to attend are ad- vised to bring their own lawn chairs. Parkwood is the estate of the late Col. and Mrs. R.S. McLaughlin and is located at 270 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa. little as $6.50. This weeiK they are running a special at lunch time, (Veal Escallop Milanese including free coffee) for the Sidewalk Sale shoppers. Lun- cheon served from il a.m. Dining from 5p.m. to 1 a.m, dancing Friday and Saturday evenings from 9 p.m. to 1 a. m. Four of us dined the other night and al agreed the meals were superbly cooked. Our dinner dishes included homemnade baked spagetti, lasagna, veal scaloppine alla Marsala and Veal Parmigiana. It was noticeable that each dinner plate was cleaned Up to the very last morsel. The dining room is done in light decor with tropical plants placed here and there throughout the dining room, which with the soft Iighting lends a warm ýand friendly at- mosphere coupled with good food, friendly ser- vice and soft music adds up to a very pleasant evening for any age dinîng at this popular eating spot. Tino and his nephew Nick are proud of the fact they make their own pasta right on the premises and this makes a big hit with those who enjoy-Italian foods. Tino and Nick also operate the Pom- pey Pizza up on Taunton Road at Simcoe and have been in business together for several years. On Friday and Satur- day evenings there is dancing and the music is enjoyable both for dancing- as well as listening. The Keys are playing at Fazio's at the moment. In weeks to corne they will have the Caprice and The Ex- pressions. The other eveming during a break, the members of the band, The Keys, came over to our table and told us ail about them- selves. They have been playing together for about seven months now, and each of them contributes to the arrangements as welI as playing their inidividual arrangements. Martin Dobby is 'the vocalist, Larry King music arranging and plays the piano and Harold Lamers the drummer. The group played for several months at East- dale Collegiate. They enjoy playing for the public and look forward to a successful career in the music business. Tino and Nick would enjoy havîng you drop in for lunch or dinner. They promise to make you welcome and we can vouch for the fact you will find their cuisine to your liking, no matter which Italian dish happens to be your favourite. CORRECTION MERCANTILE DEP'T.
