A Jay Weston Produc- tion, directed, by David Lowell Rich, "Chu Chu and the Philly Flash" teams three of the screen s most gifted comic performers in a madcap adventure that culminates in a wild chase through San Francisco, where the film was shot entirely on location. Arkin is the Philly Flash, a down-and-out basebail player former- ly with the Philadeiphia Phillies, whose dlaim to fame is that he once was a relief pitcher in the '57 Ail Star Game. Ris days of glory long over, the Flash has skidded al the way to San Fran- cisco's skid row where he scrounges up a living selling hot watches on streetcorners. Working the same in- tersection is Carol Bur- nett as Chu Chu, a dance teacher with two left feet and precisely one student. To pay the rent, she strolîs the streets as a one-woman band in a costume that sets a new low in fashion and a Carmen Miranda- inspired hat piled high with tropical fruit. These two lovable crackpots hit the jack- pot when a briefcase containing stolen and valuable government secrets accidentally falîs into their hands.
