Kiwanis president, AI Dearborn, proudly han- ded over to Cancer Society campaign co- chairman Marlon Irwin a cheque for $10,000, the successful realization of their '81 goal. In ail, 144 riders parti- cipated. Campaign co- chairman Bill Irwin states, "I'm sure the en- thusiasm and response this year can be attri- buted in great to Terry Fox as more people than ever seemed to want to get involved. " Even Kiwanis mem- bers seemed more wound up in the ride this year, too, as their Whitby Kiwanis Club president AI Dearborri is seen here presenting $10,000 to the campaign co-chairman of the Whitby branch of the Canadian Cancer Society, Marlon Irwin. The money was raised by the club in the Ladies' Great Ride that they held earlier this year. Their efforts realized almost haîf of the $10,000 with a total of almost $4,300. 0f this amount, $2,028.57 was raised by 14 riders from the Royal Bank. This was almost double the arnount this same bank raised last year. The downtown branch of the Toronto-Dominion and the Whitby Mal Commerce provided -riders for the first time joining the other T.D. and Commerce bran- ches plus the Banks of Nova* Scotia and Mon- treal and Victoria and Grey Trust.
