Janice Currie, 10, Angela Coutts, 12, and Kim Walker, 15, gave outstanding perform- ances in WISC's first meet for the 1981/82 season. Top swimniers in each age group for girls and boys were Wendy Primeau and Matthew Cook in eight years and under. Janice Currie and Chris Donnelly in age 9 and 10 category, and Angela Coutts and Kevin Wallcer captured the top honors in il and 12 yeMr olds. For 13/14 girls Denise Sy nchronized swimming Marguerite Jack is seen here demonstrating the skill and grace of synchronized swimming at the Iroquois Park Pool last Sunday. Jack's demonstration was part of the Whitby Parks and Recreation Department's Public Relations Day. The Challenge Trophy was presented to WISC head coach Tonm Mchoughlin by Wayne Deveau, head of the Whitby Recreation Department. The rneet was held in conjunction with the Recreation Department's Public Relations Day at the Iroquois Park Complex. The Recreation Department will again be sponsoring the swim club's visit to Longueui, Quebec on October 16 for a re-match with the Longueuil Orca Club.ý The meet is part of the annual sports exehange between the two towns. The meet on Sunday was the first competi- tion for a wave of new WISC recruits who ad- ded their, talents to the team's triumph. It was a close gamne ail-round but the girls could not quite make the extra basket needed for victory. The final score was Anderson C.V.I. 30, Pickering High School, 31. Third place finishers were Blayne Pascoe (tire department) and Gail Goslelgh (treasury departinent).
