The tickets were $2 with a studentcard but you could receive a dollar back at the door if you had dressed up ifa costume. The report on orange sales and grapefruit sales is a good one. Al $f the students who have sold fruit have been successful and their help is appreciated. Mrs. Cathy Carman's art of civilizations class and Mrs. Sharrock's gym class will be at- tending a ballet produc- tion at the O'keefe Cen- tre this month. The production is that sf tings 'Gazell' and it promises to be very entertaining. The junior boy's volleyball team, on Oc- tober 24, placed first in their pool but were defeated by Victoria Park, in the finals. Pre- ,e, viously at O'Neill, the junior Hawks had won three out of five games while the seniors won two out of the three games that they played against the Oshawa school. Our senior girls basketball team recen- tly took third place in a tournament in Kingston. The team won three games in a row but lost in the finals. The basket- ball team also beat An- derson recently by a score of 53 to 42. Tammy Best and Leslie Sygo were just hanging around the halls menacing innocent passers-by in the true spirit of the All Hallow's Eve festivities. While in fact they were dressed up a day early to accommodate a bit of high school chicanery no one seemed to mind. Keep up the gruesome work, girls. buted to the score of 53 with 16 points. Congratulations to the team. On October 27, the HSHS cheerleaders competed at Lindsay High School for the COSSA Cheerleading Championships. Out of ten squads the Hawks again placed third. The competition was very tough and I would like to congratulate Donevan Collegiate Institute in Oshawa who placed first and Brock High School in Cannington for coming in second. Good work girls! The date for retakes of school pictures had been set for November 12. It is the day after the holiday and the day before graduation. Mr. Skinner's and Mr. Murray Leach's 241 physics classes, along with members of the science club, made their way to Toronto on Oc- tober 21. First they at- tended a lecture on gra- vity at the Ontario Science Centre and then they made their way to the McLaughlin Plane- tarium. Mr. Hutchings HMS (Man in Society) class has also been busy.
