The junior boys' basketball team did well in their game against Cartwright High School, winning 39 to 33. The girls' volleyball team is soon to play in LOSSA, and they are participating in a tournament at Paul Dwyer in Oshawa today. The choir tour was quite a success. The choir members returned tired but happy after the ninth school in four days. Break Day coincided with the hast tour day. At the arena, Red House emerged as the victor in hockey. The Outing Club had a successful venture this month. It took place in Haliburton on the weekend of the l9th. Activities such as snow-shoeing and. cross country skiing kept the Outing Club members' complexions rosy. Six of our students attended a music workshop last weekend. Father Carey Landry, .a liturgist from the U.S., conducted the workshop. It proved to be an informative experience. In the academic realm, a math contest for grades 9, 10 and il was held on February 23. A science fair is to be held on April 25. All physics and biology students at DO'C will participate. Last week, Mr. Tom Lynch spoke to. various classes on the subject of abortion. He outlined present laws concerning the issues, and suggestions as to what could be done to amend these laws. His "'right to life" position was greatly respected. School jackets have just arrived., They feature our school colors, green and gold. Farewell to Mrs. Begy, our French and German teacher, who has departed on maternity leave. DO'C welcomes Mrs. Begy's replacement, Mrs. Wiselogel.
