The program runs up to and including Sep- tember 5,1982. Guided 'wallcs wil be held at ail of the twelve locall'onservation areas over the course of the summner. Participants are to meet at the authority of- fice (1650 Dundas Street East,- Whitby - Cher- neyt's building) 'and dress for the weather (walks wilIl go rain or shine). Binoculars, cameras, and field guides may in- crease your enjoyment of the walk, but are flot essential. Walks will be held every Thursday eveming at 6:30 p.m. and every Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Eveming programs, consisting of slide talks and films, wiil be held at the Heber Down Conser- vatioôn Area campsite on Tuesday and Saturday nights at 9 p.m. A nature walk around the conservation area will be held before the show at 7 p.m. For the walk, meet at the camp- site's washroom/ser- vice building. Directions to the campsite: foilow High- way 12 (Brock Street) north to Highway 7, turn west for 3 kilometres (13/ miles) to Corona- tion Road, south 1 kilo- metre (½ mile) to en- trance. Watch for signs. Saturday, July 3- eveming program - "An Introduction to C.L.O.C.A.pp Sunday, July 4 "Grouse, Grosbeaks and Grackles"; a walk at Enniskillen Conser- vation Area to view some of the area's many nesting birds. Tuesday,, July 6 - evening program - "Wildflowers of the Watershed." Thursday, July 8 - "Edible Plants"; a walk at Heber Down Conser- vation Area to explore the possibiities of food from wild plants. Scholarship0wnne Genevieve Parrott of Whitby (above) was this year's recipient of Durham Colege's Beth Skinner Memorial Sçholarship Award. Parrott recently completed the coilege's nursing assistant course. The $100 award was first introduced in 1977 in memory of a deceased Durham staff member who worked in the health sciences division. It is given on.the basis of academnic standing. Playcamp will feature organized outdoor, ac- tivities such as painting, creative crafts, imagin- ary.play, songs, stories, games, along with juice and a snack. Emphasis will be aimed at ýproviding op-. portunitiesý for learming experiences which are important to the pre- schooler in a supervised setting. The Y's staff is trained in Early Child- hood Education, and shows great under- standing for each and every pre-schooler, in the camp. There will be four sessions of two weeks each, beginning July 5.
