WHITBY FREE PRESS Andrew Antenna wins7 1982 championship By TOM FRANK Andrew Antenna Pee- wees ended up the 1982 season as league champions of Zone 6 of the OMILA, with a 9 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie record. The Zone playoffs will be held August 21 at Iro- quois Mrena. This wil be a round robin wîth peewee lacrosse teams from Beaches,- Scarbor- ough, Peterborough and Whitby. Their last game in Peterborough was a 6 to 2 win for the locals on goals by Adam Foote, Keith Primeau, Chris Tucker, 'and Derek Jones. Mike Williams scored twice. Jones scored 4 goals, Williams and Primeau had 3 each, Foote scored 2 while Mark Ainsworth, Brad Tiley and Mark Smith had singles. Season play ended with a trip to the Beaches' outdoor box. The game ended in a 10 to 10 tie. Jones, Ains- worth and David Clarke each found the net twice while Tiley, Mike Husted, Primeau and Julie Kernohan scored 1 each. The Novice Blue team sponsored by the Opti- mists. arranged a one- day mini-tournament at Iroquois Park Mrena so league play and the Ail- Ontario Playdowns which will be held the last weekend in August this year.1 There were no declar- ed winners nor trophies but ail who participated had fun. Witby won the first game 8 to 4 over Peterborough. Matt Cook and Garrett Camp- bell scored 2 each with singles by Alan Frank, Paul Hamilton, Rob MArtin and Brian Greaves. Goaltender Wayne Paddick picked Up 2 assists. Orangevilie beat Dunnville 8 to 5. The Whitby-Garrard Road players remembered a 7 to 2 boss to this Orange- ville team so they fired they can stay ini shape themselves up for an 8 between the end of to 1 win over Orange- ville.
