Because of time pro- blems in getting the map bufit this year, the Chamber has decîded te conclude negotiations with the Town of Whltby for a site at the Infor- mation centre, and wil erect the map on the grounds of Cullen Gar- .dens. The map, which shows the. locations of, businesses i the town of Whitby, wiil be on a four by eight-foot display board adjacent to' the miniature village. Local businesses may obtain a place on the map from June 1, 1983 to, Jan. 1, 1986 for $100. ,This p-ce includes a listing on 60,000 bro- chures of the map to be distributed te tourists. Those "businesses whlch purchase a spot on the map wil be given first option, to renew their listing in 1986. The prelininary cut- off point .wlll be 100 businesses, the Cham- ber decided at its board .meeting last week. The deadline for inclusion on the map is April 1, 1983. The Chamber expects that a quarter of a mil- lion persons annuaily wiIl view, the informa- tion map at Cullen Gar- dçns. Police say the restau- rant, located on High- way 12 just north of Brooklin, was broken in- to some time beiween il p.m. Feb. 1 and 9 a.m. Feb. 2. The front door of the building had been pried open and exten- sive damage was done to vending machines, video games and locks on the doors.
