To cityor not Wt city la the question most under debate by the citizens ofour town. On july 18, council will debate and decide thla issue. I cannot recail when- an issuebas created so much debate and discussion amongst our citizens and it's good that we feel strongly about these mat- ters. It shows that we care about our community. It appears that a classic debate between the "Its time we grow up" people and the "but what about our heritage"l people la taking place acroas town as weil as amongest counclilors. Council has done a wise thing in asking for the imput of the citizens of our town. Nothing la 80 frustrating as haveing strong. feelings about something and having no one listening. This decision of coundil requires that ail counciiiors try to keep an open and receptive mind to the views and opinions of those cîtizens who take the time to write or cail, after ail it's everyone's town. This is an important matter li the life of our town. Give it some sober thought, and let your council know how you feel by writing or calling. If you should decide to cail me, I promise to llsten with an open mind. If you decide to write, address it to Don McKay, clerk, Town of Whitby, 575 Rossland Road L1N-2M8 and try to get itin byJuly il. Till next time, have a great summer.
