Regional Councillor Tom Edwàrds ex- pressed some concern that the new plan was radically different from one whiceh was, shown to Council in May.. "I wish you had corne to us before you made the, changes. We wouldn'tý have stuck our necks out so far with the original plan," he told GO-ALRT officiaIs. In 'the- new, plan, the route travels paralleltoé Highway '401 - -to Thickson Rd.-, and then parallel to the CP Rail line. Station sites are proposed at a location between Henry and Brock Streets and another west of Thickson, east Of Hopkins and south of Conisumner Dr. Councillors expressed some concern that residents along the route may be adversley affected. Ian Williams, the projeet engineer from Whitby to Oshawa, assured them that the response from residents is generaily positive. "We have made a point of meeting with the affected property owners and, almost every one has been quite supportive, " he said. Replacement of the Brock- St. «bridge is another key factor in the plan. Puîblic information centres are still being held, and the plan which was presented to'Coun- cil is not final. Coun- cillors will discuss the issues and meet again with GO officiais at the next regular Council meeting in two weeks.. Cons truction of the GO line is scheduled to begin in- the Spring of 1984. e: z lss endr AL I e yfat IIIcinlthmh *08 deivry& Fsatati cutsilbl 1 00eUnisex Hair Salon W're Top's ln Haircuts "Haircuts for everyono by exporienced halrstyllsts."1 Haircuts 16 Perms 129 (Incudes hair cut) ~5N.
