A copy of the original 1795 survey map of Whitby Township, used for haîf a century to record the naines of land grantees, appears on the cover. It bears the naines of Peter Perry, Whitby founder, and Jabez Lynde, who owned the '1812 home which is now the Whitby Museumn. The caiendar is a completely home-grown projeet. A co-operative education student- at Henry Street High Sehool conducted the layout and artwork whiie working at a local printer. Doug Anderson, Historical Society President, handled the design, production, and distribution. Anderson expeets brisk sales over the next few weeks as peopie start thinking toward the new year. However, many of the caiendars have already been bought as gifts for people who have moved away from town. They seil for $3.75, which includes provin- cial sales tax, with ail profits going to the support o0'f the Whitby Museum and the Whitby Archives. They can be obtained at a number of Down- town Whitby , .and Brooklin merchants as well as some shops in the Whitby, Mail.
