It seems like there's a lacross tournament every weekend. That is certainly true during June and July in. On- tario., The Whitby-Garrard Road Tyke teamn, spon- sored by the Rednien, went to Brampton for their first tournament experience this season. The Tyke Redmen came painfully close to vic- tory throughout the Brampton tournamnent. They had a no win, three loss and one tie record but those losses could have been wins with a bit 0f luck.' The gamne against Orangeville lacrosse tykes ended 4 to 6 with Rohan Mehta'scoring 2 goals and singles by Jimmy Brown and Mat- thew Sorichetti. Outstanding goalten- ding resuiting in an assist for goalie Jamie Hogel, along with strong team checking, produced a 6 to 6 tie with Brampton. Congratu- lations to Rohan Mehta on his first career hat- trick, and to Chris Shannon for his first ever goal. Brown and Michael Wye cornpleted the scoring. The game against Mimico was a 4 to 5 loss. Whitby goals were by Mehta (2 goals), Sorichetti, and Wye. The final game was also lost by a single point against the worthy opponents from Beaches,- 3 to 2. Soriehetti and Mehta scored to the Rednen. The Bantam No. 2 team took the trip to the Dunnville Tournament. They started strongly with a 10 to 1 thumping of Guelph. Jason Ren- nick scored 6 times. Jason Haladysh twice and once each by Blair Oliphant and Mark Higden. The second game was much more competitive agaînst the host club. Dunnville outscored the Whitby bantams 12 to 8. Troyhann Santos sparked the Whitby team with 3 goals, Trevor Rands scored 2 with 1 each by Jlm Fawcett, Jason Rennlck and Bilan Shelfoon. Whitby whms 6m2 The Whitby Legionaires handed Lindsay a 6 to 2 defeat last Thursday night in the Campbell Division of the Oshawa City and District Fastball League.
