Teams representing Burlington, Oshawa, Unionville and Whitby played a round robin resulting in a 2-1 record for Burlington, Oshawa and Whitby. A play-off then resulted to determine the gold, silver and bronze winners. Burlington had a bye the first round and Oshawa defeated Whit- by i-0; and then Oshawa won 3-2 over Burlington in the first inning- to become the gold rnedalists. Whitby played Burlington and scored 1 run and left 2 on base and then Burlington carne up and scored two runs to win the silver medal leaving Whitby with the bronze. Karen Black frorn Oshawa received the best pitcher award, Suzy Watson frorn Whitby received the top batten award with 10 hits out of 12 tirnes to bat and Michelle Babington received the M.V.P. award for pitching 17 innings and having 47 strike-outs, and walking eight. PICKERING 839-4425- The Whitby Legionaires Fastbali Tearn earned a berth in the All Ontario Fastball Association inter- mediate 'A' finals when they defeated Kingston hast week. The first game was a tight one with Whitby managing a 1-0 victory. The winning pitcher was Randy Uniderwood whe gave up only five hits while striking out 12 opposing batters. Brooks also scored the winning run when hie hit a horner over the left field fence in the last haîf of the ninth inning. Whitby won the second garne against Kingston by default when the other squad failed to show up for the gaine. The finals will be held in Vernon, Ont. Sept. 8 and 9. Soceer vietory The Whitby Lakes Wallpapers continued their winning ways in local minor atorn soccer action last week when they defeated Pickering 3-1. Pickering opened Up the scoring in the first hall but Whitby respon- ded quickly with two goals from Mark Wisdom.
