Local youth, 16 ijured in crash A 16-year old Whitby youth is in Toronto General Hospital recovering from in- juries sustained in a traffic accident that oc- cured at Rossland Rd. and Durham Rd. 23 last Saturday afternoon. According to a spokesman for the Durham Regional Police Force a car travelling west bound on Rossland Rd. stopped for the stop sign and then proceeded into the intersection where it struck a car travelling southbound on Durham Rd.23. She is also the youngest person to CONT'D ON PG. 6 Two young Oshawa men were taken into custody in the early hours of Thursday mor- ning by two members of the Durham Regional Police Force's 18 Division after a theft occured at a downtown motorcycle dealership. According to a police spokesman, the officers noticed two men on bicycles travelling behind-149 Brock St. N. at about 3 a.m. The men were carrying numerous items. Police recovered a number of stolen items including batteries, motorcycle shrouds, and wheels. The owner of the dealership later repor- ted the theft of over $3,000 worth of motor- cycle parts from crated bikes stored at the rear of his store. Charged with two counts of theft of $200, two counts of possession of stolen property over $200 and conspiracy to committ theft are Steven Leon Hicks, 18, of 531 Dorchester Dr., Oshawa and Douglas Robert Parker, 20, of 575 Dorchester Dr., Oshawa. Both were released on bail and will appear in Whitby Provincial court this Friday. According to a spokesman for the Whitby detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, the youth was riding in the back of a pick-up truck that was southbound on Hwy. 12 just north of the Lynde Creek bridge.
