Linen table clothes adorn the tables which are accompanied by the most comfortable chairs I've yet ex- perienced in a local restaurant. Wben I lunched there. last Thursday, I had their rack of lamb (skip the mint sauce or jelly,, please) which was fresbly broiled with just the n,,,ight amount of rosemary and spices. It came with pommes parisienne - a rarity in itself ini this part of On- tario and green beans that were delicately spiced and served hot and still crisp. The beautiful lamb almost wiped out my memory of their jumbo shrimp cocktail. The fleshy magnificant shrimp wene of jumbo size served with the standard cocktail sauce. The Old Liverpool House has a wide ranging and delightful menu and should please every taste. Their appetizers in- clude, aside from the shrimp, such items as escargot bourguignon- ne, smoked Gaspe Salmon, marinated Bishmark herning and fresh Blue Point oysters. The entire list in- cludes two sizes.of filet mignon and three sizes of New York sirlion. Also featured are steak and ribs, pepper steak, Chateau Briand- Bouquetiere for two ($42.95), steak diane, filet of veal Oscar, haif a duckling a la orange and of course, rack of lamb. For those who prefer seafood, the selection is also almost too good to he true. Included is s Whttby One thlng I should say is that the Old Liverpool, House is not a burger joint. Its prices are above average but you get what you pay for. And while you pay a lot here, you get a lot here. From prfect service to elegan t surrounding to magnificant fate. It's Worth every penny.
